Description: The Wortley Arms was originally built as a coach house in 1753 at a cost of 188 pounds and 66 shillings! After an extensive renovation period we reopened our doors in November 2006.You will find we have retained many of the features that have given this historical building its renowned character including its revolving doors and the solid oak beams. Customers can enjoy themselves in our warm welcoming environment in front of our wood fire, whilst enjoying a locally brewed ale or some excellent fresh food like our famous Wortley Pie.The Montagu Rooms occupy the upper floor. Here we can accommodate private functions for all purposes. You can hire part or the whole of the top floor for exclusive private dining, for seated parties of up to 50 or buffet style catering for larger gatherings. Alternatively you can reserve the entire venue including the facilities of the Wortley Arms.Food for both the Wortley Arms and the Montagu Rooms is prepared under the direction of Master Chef of Great Britain Andy Gabbitas. Andy uses recipes that he has collected in the course of his experience as private chef to well known celebrities and on his world travels to produce a cuisine at its most pure, simple and seasonal.

“Pub food at its finest”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

Whilst visiting our family in Sheffield we spent an extremely enjoyable evening at the Wortley Arms. The food was of the highest order and I understand so was the beer. Restaurant quality food at pub prices well worth a visit.

“OK”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

Chap behind the bar a bit cold and frosty, otherwise OK. Watch out in the car park as the club next door are less that friendly and will clamp you, very dangerous to leave due to blind corner onto main road.

“Fabulous find!”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Whilst staying nearby at Wortley Hall, we decided to have a walk into the village in search of an evening meal as the hotel was not up to much. To our delight we stumbled upon the Wortley Arms. Not only was this a very welcoming country pub, with local ales and very welcoming regulars and staff, it also did food midweek in the evenings. The menu was amazing! Not just the usual traditional pub grub it also had duck, venision etc on it. My partner and I have many words to describe our time there AWESOME I think sums it up. Not only was the main course good, but the starter and dessert were also fantastic. The atmosphere was very friendly and the waitress did a sterling job on her own serving both rooms, and very attentive. The overal prices were reasonable. In fact i can highly recommend the duck breast with dauphenoise potatoes. ...........stunning!!!!!!The best I have ever tasted........The only down side is that we live an hour and a half away :(

“Great food and definitely worth visiting”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We have eaten at the Wortley Arms on several occasions and have always had excellent meals. The food is always good and well presented, one of my favourites is the Sunday roast, nothing nicer after a long walk than a good pint of Timothy Taylors and a good roast dinner. The location is lovely although it's starting to look a bit tired in places and the service can be a little hit or miss... but the food definitely makes up for it.

“Not a pub anymore”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Recent visit for a bite to eat at tea time. Food was very good but used to serve good reasonably priced pub food down stairs and quality restaurant up stairs. You cant get a normal pub food meal anymore, whilst food is excellent £20 a head is too much for a mid week bite to eat in a pub tap room.
