Visited La Scala for the first time in months and was delighted to find it was as good as ever!
Went on a Wednesday evening, and although on the quiet side it was busier than we'd remembered it midweek.
Could be because of the very keenly priced two course menu they now offer? It's great value and they do a specially priced kid's menu which is a really good idea for a family dining out.
My wife had garlic, tomato and cheese bread to start and I had their delicious Funghi Della Scala - both as good as ever!
This was followed by Prawn Tagliatelle and Chicken Risotto - both excellent and my wife couldn't finish her prawn dish because of the portion size - a nice dilemma to face! In my opinion La Scala does the nicest Chicken Risotto I've tasted - and I've tasted a few in Italy!
The wine list is very keenly priced and their house Merlot is very good, but this time we had the excellent Montepulciano.
Service is always very friendly without being intrusive, efficient and attentive - all one could want!
The decor is special to this nice little trattoria and the atmosphere is warm and friendly.
It's still as good as we remember and it won't be months before we go back next!
Try it out if you haven't been before - you won't regret it!
