I recently went here at the weekend. We had booked a table as we were a rather large group. We finally sat down 1.5 hours after the original booking time and was offered onion loaf to make up for the wait.
I had high expectations as I had heard good things about the place, but once I got inside I was disappointed. The decor is very dated and they have a strange annoucning system. The tables are quite close together meaning that you struggle to get in and out to the bar and the room is very loud.
Once we were sat at the table the service was very swift. But the menu is extensive and slightly complicated to understand.
I had the steak with mash potatoes (1 scoop of) and coleslaw. It was nice but you don't get much for £17.
We had brought our own cake for a birthday celebration and handed to the waitress who subsequently lost it and we had to go into thr kitchen with them to find it!
Will definatley not be going back anytime soon. Bar and food far too expensive for what is on offer.

We went midweek for my wife's birthday with the kids and left feeling very underwhelmed. The interior is shabby, we sat on a bench seat which was ripped. The food was average to poor considering the high prices, and the complimentary birthday cake was inedible, very unpleasant. I'm left wondering why this place remains so popular! We will not be going back.

When Damons opened it was fresh, new, vibrant and offered delicious food at sensible prices. My family loved the onion loaf, clam chowder and ribs. When asked where do you want to eat tonight Damons always was the choice.

That was then...... now the complimentary chicken wings have gone, portions have shrunk, attention to detail is non existant and the once friendly, welcoming environment has been turned into a noisy, over-priced childrens party hang out. SUCH A SHAME

I won't be going back, take your ear plugs if you are planning on going.

Just arrived home from a evening out at this restaurant the food was poor and dated and maybe they need to engage Gordon Ramsay for menu review.
The waiter spilt our drinks over us soaking one of our party completely , he was advised to go and stand under the hand dryer in the toilet !!
The waiter disapeared to get new drinks leaving us with our napkins to mop up, the table next to us passed us their napkins to help out.
The manager stephen came over and said these 2 drinks are on the house, there were 4 drinks that had smashed and split !
The mains arrived and We then had to wait for our knives and forks and our coleslaw .
When the bill arrived I asked to speak to the manager and see what he was prepared to do, well if you go to the dry cleaners, you can send us the receipts ( gee thanks) he argued that he gave us two free drinks and the waiter was new !! Wow we had to sit in wet clothes feeling embarrassed. He carried on arguing , so my husband paid the bill and left .

No customer service , food poor and dated , give it a miss !
