Quarry House
Ranked #10 of 33 Sheffield B&B and Inns
Reviewed December 3, 2012

We have just returned from Quarry House and had the most lovely overnight stay. The location is stunning, just far enough out of town to be totally peaceful and yet close enough to make Sheffield easily accessible. We spent the night in town and spent the following morning walking the beautiful Rivelin nature trail which is within 100 yards from Quarry House.

The welcome we received was warm, friendly and very accommodating with a cup of tea on arrival, a fantastic choice of breakfasts (that we had in bed) and even complimentary night caps in the room.

Our room was spacious very warm and cosy and we found our stay to be extremely relaxing

All in all this is best B&B we have ever stayed in and we will be returning soon.

I can only agree with everybody else, best B&B I have ever stayed in. Lovely hosts, fantastic room, couldn't ask for anything more. Better than any hotel, spotlessly clean, all you need to take with you are your clothes, everything else is provided.

We stayed here for a night whilst visiting our son at the university. It's a very quiet location, the room had everything we could have wanted, and more. The best part of all was the superb breakfast, a wide variety, good quality and plenty of it!

I really didnt think bed and breakfast could be so luxurious! Fabulous welcome, though I arrived very late. great room with separate bathroom with shower and bath, spotless. TV, DVD, tea/coffee tray and kettle, radio, sofa, complimentary sherry, whisky, port etc. Overwhelmingly good breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurts, 14 different cereals, fruit juices, cooked breakfast, porridge.....no room for lunch... and a great walk by the river too.
Penny and Neville were very kind and I shall stay next time I am in the area (from Cornwall). Close to the National Park and would happily stay a week and walk off those breakfasts in the peaks!

We stayed at Quarry House B&B overnight after a friend's wedding nearby. From the initial phone call to book, right to the end of our stay Penny & Neville could not have been more accommodating.
On our rushed arrival, we were offered refreshments and shown to our (fantastic) room, Neville even offered to carry our luggage from the car.
The room was spacious, clean, very comfy bed and every little detail had been thought about, beside the usual mod cons (tv, dvd, wi-fi etc) we were also surprised to find a mini fridge, a "mini bar" on the window ledge and a well stocked bathroom (including alka seltzer which Penny pointed out as we rushed off to the wedding with our bag of wine .... classy!).
Our Taxi was late to collect us and we were going to miss the start of the wedding, but like superman, Neville was ready to leap into action and save the day with the offer of a lift to the venue. What a star!
The breakfast was something else, a table of dreams with nothing left out! (we opted to go down for breakfast but we were offered breakfast in bed if we had requested it).
At the end of our stay we went for a walk down the stunning Rivelin Valley. We were able to leave the car in their car park and Penny was even kind enough to make us a pack up for lunch!
A fabulous weekend! We will highly recommend Quarry House, a truly unique B&B.

My partner and I stayed here for one night in mid-October. Very friendly welcome. Coffee was brought to our room in individual plunger coffee pots - delicious. Extremely comfortable bed - all mod cons - TV, DVD, a great selection of DVDs, magazines and books. The bathroom was large and extremely clean (as was the room) - lovely shampoo and bubble bath provided amongst other things - even a brand new shaving foam for my man! (He didn't use it though as he did bring his own but a lovely gesture all the same). Breakfast the next morning was also delicious - lots of cereal and fresh fruit to select from, delicious coffee and fresh chunky bread. We will definitely recommend to friends/family and will book in again next time we are in the area visiting friends.

What a special place! A delightful setting and home and very comfortable. Room and ensuite met every need. The choice at breakfast was magnificent - would have liked to stay and graze all day! Well worth a visit.
