Great place to see the work of local Artists. Love the exhibits that show new emerging talent. Particularly liked the show case with the ceramic animals by the talented Artist Miles Gavin. The Kid Acne exhibition was great too. Its a place that you should visit frequently, especially if you live and work in Sheffield.

Not one. or two but 4 great galleries to visit. Classical paintings by John Martin plus continuous showing of films, e.g. Million years B.C. with Raquel Welch, his pictures haveinspired erupting volcanoes, lava flows + Much more. Then there was Sheffield Steel, some awesome pieces throughout the centuries + some great modern stuff too. Small exhibition on John Ruskin + best of all a graffitti exhibition which was lots of fun. So much so Radio 4 were doing an interview with the curator. Downstairs super cafe with good, reasonably priced food. Spent a very pleasant morning including lunch here. Peace Gardens just outside the Winter Gardens is equally interesting, mix of modern + old architecture, fountains + water features.

The Millenium Galleries are located off the WinterGarden. They are a group of several galleries each on a different theme. The standout gallery is devoted to Sheffield's cutlery manufacturing.

The diplays are attractively arranged and give a good history of cutlery (ie knives) and "flatware' (ie spoons, forks, etc). A real part of Sheffield's history attractively displayed.

The galleries have a shop and cafes are nearby.
