“A fantastic day out!”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Stuck for somewhere to go last weekend, I took my granddaughter to Graves Park, and it was quite simply one of the very best days out I have had for quite a long time. You can very easily spend a whole day here, the animal farm kept us amused, and was quite educational, for hours. A tub of animal feed at £1 was money well spent as it let the little one get hands on experience with the goats. A word of warning, get in too close with the cup and it will get snaffled by one of the bigger animals! The walk down to the duck and fish ponds was a steady affair, the train was a welcome attraction as it took you all the way around the park, giving you glimpses into its corners, and it was very well priced and excellent value for the thirty minute ride. The play park, with swings, sand pits etc is very well kept and we managed to spend over two hours in there before making our way up to the Rose Garden Cafe, which I thought was a little bit on the pricy side. ice creams at £1.70 for one scoop, tea and come at over £1.50, meals at over £5.00 and just the basic soup and roll at nearly £4.00 it soon adds up. The bouncy castle was also excellent value coming in at £1.50 a go and with no rush to get the children on and off in the quickest possible time meant our little one could take her time. We saw quite a few people with gazebos etc, there were two or three groups having Birthday parties and by the time we left five hours later, there were loads of Picnicer's enjoying the late afternoon sun. The great British weather got it spot on that day! If its a dry day, take a look at Graves Park.....and take a picnic too!

“huge park and a good day out for families”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

I grew up going to this park and it has not changed much. There is a lovely animal farm were you can pick up and stroke the animals or you can even look at the highland cattle in the fields. The Cafe is still there and is faced by a lovely rose garden and a play area you can sit in while you eat or drink. The cafe is well priced and covers most tastes (especially children). Toilets are to the side of the cafe and are not bad. There is plenty of grassed areas to sunbath or play football etc. Tennis is available, but the courts are in a poor condition. Green bowling and golf is also available. To the other-side of the park there are full side football pitches and a cricket pavilion and with a short walk a small playground for children. To do everything you need more then a day. Oh My pet hate you can even go fishing in this park Aaaaahhhh.

“Gorgeous Park With Lots to Offer”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Went to this park on Saturday, found it on google as looking for a place between Birmingham and Hartelpool to meet friends. Thank god for google. Gorgeous huge park with a free farm, lake, tea room, train and a lovely big play area. Lovely grounds to walk around and over the school holidays they had 3 bouncy castles which were still there. This park is definately worth a visit even if you aren't a local like me. Took me hour and half from Birmingham and I wasn't disappointed. My son loved the play area, and it had a large sand pit with 2 little diggers to sit on and other bits to put the sand through tunnels. A play area for all different ages. The farm had plenty of animals to see. The toilets weren't the best, but was told they were alot cleaner in the team room. Plenty on offer in the team room with nice seated area and couches in front of a TV for the children to watch children's tv and lovely gardens to sit in outside. Free entry, even to the farm. Parking isn't big enough for the park though. I went in the entrance by the farm, so not sure if there are other parking areas. Reasonably priced pay and display but I had to park in private road opposite entrance which was easy and free. A great day out, and we took a picnic so even better.
