“No Air Con.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel during the bank holiday weekend. Every other Premier Inn we have stayed in has been fantastic, but we were very disapointed with the MeadowHall one. We were allocated room 101 and our first night there I had no sleep, our room was just above the entrance to the hotel and was above where everyone had there cigarettes so we had loads of noise and chatter up to at least 2 in the morning. We reported this the next morning and the staff couldnt of been more aplogetic, they moved us straight away to another room at the other end of the hotel which was perfect. Also the heat in the room was unbearable, like previous reviews the temperature was up to 28 degrees with the window open and a fan on. This totally lets the hotel down as all other ones we have stayed in have had air con. We were coming out of the shower drying off and we were still sweating, so uncomfortable, we just had to lie ontop of the bed it was so hot. Didnt try the food but we did go into the bar which was beleive it or not 'air con'. TGI just outside the hotel which was very handy and meadowhall, just a 5 minute walk away. When we got home £29 had been rufunded because of our poor nights sleep so thank you for the kind gesture. Overall a nice hotel but having no aircon spoilt it for us so would prob not return for that reason alone.

Room Tip: try rooms away from the main entrance as it can be very noisy with people smoking,

Booked this hotel at 9 pm after being overbooked at other hotel chain, staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating, nothing too much trouble and made our children feel most welcome.

Rooms could just do with air con.

Other hotels should take note of the staff attitude here!

Room Tip: Try and get car park side rooms

Excellent stay with my family for the Transplant Games. Brilliant service and a very impressive breakfast. There was a strange smell in my room and I was immediately given a fresh room with no fuss. The location was excellent to access the tram system and Meadowhall shopping centre was a short walk away. We ate at TGI Friday next door and thoroughly enjoyed our short break in Sheffield. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

I needed to be close to Meadowhall for work purposes, couldn't get much closer. Just a short stroll across the car park. It was perfectly quiet from other rooms.
Dinner selection was reasonable from the menu. All dishes were good quality and very well priced.
Breakfast was a buffet selection , which covered the full range of items. Service from both the restaurant and reception staff was wonderful.

Stayed here to go to Magna. Really good location. Meadowhall is very close by (though not too close) and a TGI Fridays nearby too. Excellent service and one of the best Premier Inns I've stayed in! Can't recommend this enough.

We stayed over the bank holiday weekend, the hotel is typical premier inn, it is ideally placed for both meadowhall and the trams to get into the city centre. The staff here are lovely and the breakfast is really good too.
Now for the but, the rooms are ridiculously hot, even though they provide fans. The room temperature never went below 27.5 degrees! On the morning we left the room was 28 degrees and the car thermometer said 16! It is such a shame, my only advice would be go in winter.

My husband and I stayed here last night (bank holiday weekend) and everything was fine apart from 2 things. The shower was amazing apart from the fluctuating temperature. The room was unbearably warm, and the fan wasn't much use.

We didn't try the breakfast, but the room was fine apart from that.
