“Lovely stay”
Reviewed May 15, 2011

My Wife & I stayed here for one night & could not fault it.
This hotel is perfectly situated for the City centre & just out of the way enough for there to be no noise issues.
Having never stayed in a Premier Inn before we were a little dubious about what to expect, especially as we had managed to get the £29 deal that is advertised on tv. Any concerns we had were soon dispelled as check-in was quick & efficient, the hotel was spotlessly clean & our room far exceeded our expectations.
Every single member of staff we came into contact with was the epitome of hospitality & professionalism.
Breakfast was again something that far exceeded our hopes, well worth the extra £7.99.
The NCP car park was very conveniently situated & the discount rate for hotel guests was a bonus (£6 for 24 hours).
I would have no qualms about recommending this hotel to anybody, We've booked again to visit later this year!

Stayed in the Premier inn Sheffield whilst watching the world snooker at the Crucible Theatre which was about a 3-5 minute walk away.
Would definitely recommend staying in this hotel if you are in Sheffield. The room was good and clean, the food was good and the staff were all helpful and polite particularly Georgi who worked in the bar/restaurant area and of course the price of the stay was excellent.

This was ideal location, reception friendly, cheap price and comfortable room.

Parking could have been difficult if we hadn't taken the good directions that we had or if you were travelling on your own without Sat Nav.

That said, all in all very happy - know what you are getting with a Premier Inn!

Great value hotel, in the centre of Sheffield. Friendly welcome and a goods night sleep.
Room was clean, although a little chilly. Aircon was on a summer setting and only blew out cold air.
Room not too noisy we were on the 4th floor and could hear a little road noise but nothing else. Car park is however difficult to find. One way system in Sheffield is a nightmare!

First time at Premier Inn. A cut above the normal budget motels and in a great location for getting round Sheffield, No free parking on site but discount available at nearby car park (this is the norm for city centre motels). Good value breakfast though service a bit chaotic at the time we went down (Motel was pretty full to be fair) Downside Must have the slowest lifts ever

Room Tip: Convenient location in city centre for public trat

Very difficult to find the car park despite knowing exactly where the Premier Inn was. Could see the place but just couldn’t get to it because of tram lines, bus lanes, one way streets etc. Sat-nav not a lot of help either. Apparently you have to follow signs for Cathedral Quarter and then Premier Inn – simple really! Car park token gets validated behind the reception desk so you only pay £6 for 24 hours, a huge reduction.

Anyway, arrived, checked in, friendly chap, all OK. Room as expected, same as all other Premier Inns (we are frequent users!) The main difference with this one was the creaky ceilings/floors. Perhaps we were unfortunate in having people on the floor above who were up and around until nearly 3am. Every footstep they took creaked very loudly. The heating/cooling system would not go down less that 19 degrees so we turned it off but room so terribly hot especially with three of us in it. Opening the window didn’t help as this let in all the sounds from the street – doesn’t anyone ever go to bed in Sheffield?!

Breakfast, eat all you can buffet, for £7.99 per adult and free for each under-16 per adult, was excellent. There was a vast array of food, all really good quality. A member of staff called Georgi was extremely pleasant, explaining where everything was and offering to get anything we needed unusual like vegetarian etc. So, ten out of ten for the breakfast.

That evening we ordered pizzas, side salad and chips from the bar/restaurant, which we took to our room. Good food and plenty of it, eaten in relaxed surroundings.

Night two – exhausted from the lack of sleep on the first night we all set about an early night. All was going well until the phone rang at 3.50am. On answering it I was told it was reception and that there were two male escorts in reception who’d been requested by the occupants of our room number, and should they send them up!!! Having been woken very suddenly I was furious and couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It was, of course, a joke (not a very funny one) by other guests who clearly had nothing better to be doing at 3.50am than ringing other rooms, disturbing people’s sleep and generally being a nuisance. (I only hope they have been permanently banned from Premier Inns in future!)

As you may gather, this was not a good weekend. Our young son was too exhausted to swim well – the main purpose of our being there – and we felt it was all a huge waste of time.

Ultimately we were refunded the cost of both nights against their “good night’s sleep guarantee” so that went some way to pacifying us (thank you for that Premier).

Would we stay there again? Yes but only with a specific request for top floor rooms with no-one above us. And a lesson we have learnt from this is to unplug the telephone before going to sleep! Staff were all top quality, no complaints there with any of them at all.

Room Tip: Ask for top floor.
