“Excellent food and lovely service”
Reviewed March 12, 2014 via mobile

We stumbled upon Eten on a shopping trip in Sheffield with a lovely view onto the church square and right next to a handy tram stop.

We were greeted by warm, friendly staff, enjoyed a rock and indie photography exhibition on the way to the loos and as a coeliac, I was catered for like never before alongside my 'normal' gluten-eating familiars. Home-cooked and delicious meals at an amazing price will keep us coming back for more.

“Fabulous lunch”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

Had a superb individual plated meat and potato pie off the specials board, followed by the Eten knickerbocker glory. An excellent delicious meal with attentive service. The owner informed me that they had an open night blues / jam session on the first Friday of the month in the evening which I would likely attend.A friendly good value eaterie.
Highly recommended !

“Great little hideaway”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

I have just eaten at the eten and the food was great. It was cooked fresh to order and was plentyful the pulled pork cob was just mouth worthing.

There is a varied menu and the tea which I love was endless and the selection was outstanding and was freshly brewed with leaves not those t-bags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The staff were very friendly and professional.

It is well worth a visit and is situated next to the cathedral I did find it hard to see as the were not much signage etc but once found it well worth it and I will look forward to trying one of there bistro evenings soon

“Lovely evening dinner and music!”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

This evening we visited Eten to have an evening dinner and enjoy an acoustic/unplugged gig upstairs. Everything was very enjoyable from the food to the gig,

We started with the mixed meze (houmous, roasted vegetables, pitta, pesto and olives) and then had the chicken kiev (a 'proper' kiev made of juicy chicken and deliciously garlicky filling). Really couldn't fault the food at all. There were also abundant gluten-free and vegan options on the menu. The beers were lovely too! 8 of us dined and the entire 2-course dinner with many bottles of wine and beer was really good value.

Service was also excellent.

I will definitely return for dinner or lunch and would heartily recommend Eten to my friends.

“Excellent local cafe”
Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

I visited this small cafe on a recent visit to Sheffield. Excellent coffee and food, and very unusual to find such a lovely independent cafe in the centre of Sheffield. The service was warm and friendly and prices very reasonable. Highly recommended.
