We researched Sheffield restaurants prior to visiting and asked a friend in Sheffield for a recommendation. The name Dhera (meaning gathering/collection of people) came up on both ocassions, we emailed 3 days beforehand to check prices and received a prompt reply.

Welcome and service: outstanding on both counts. We were offered 1 of 3 places to seat our party of 8 inc children. I asked for a less central table which was happily agreed to. Attentive waiters-ladies on drinks counter were very helpful. Well done..you were so polite and efficient. Competitors sit up and take note,
Food choices: more than enough veg and non veg starters and mains. Our party tried a bit of everything and especially praised the food in terms of the right quantity of spice. Foods that really were a hit: salad bar, fish pakorahs, barbecue ribs, veg samosa, seekh kebabs, veg curry, melt in the mouth soft fresh naans, onion pakorahs, chargrilled chicken. And the ice cream and chocolate fudge cake were a big hit with the younger members of our group. The gulab jaman was especially delicious. Although compact, the buffet area was clean and well organised.
Price: nothing at all to moan about here because not one of us were left feeling hungry. VFM=go to Dhera. Honestly, if its a case of spending 2 hours in your kitchen slaving away to offer 2 or 3 dishes for a gathering or your family, go to Dhera and choose from around 60+ options including starters mains and desserts. Whats not to like? And no cooker to clean after : )

5 star customer service: we were automatically given a child discount. After we paid and left, our children wanted to sit outside on the verandah. At which point, even though we were no longer restaurant patrons, the manager offered us "manjees" to sit on outside! These are a type of bed frame with weave, used to sleep/sit on in hotter climates. Amazing experience for our children, happily posing for selfies and relaxing outside. We were also offered complimentary tea. At this point, i felt as if we were visiting a favourite uncle.

To all at Dhera (not forgetting the manjee helpers) thank you so much for ending our trip to Sheffield in a fabulous way.

Third time I've visited and wow, the standards have slipped...

The dishes that used to be chicken breast are now chicken thighs, the serving areas were splattered with waste food, curry sauces. The plates were wet, there were no poppadoms, more tables had been squeezed in making it impossible to reach our table without disturbing other diners and three of the five curries on offer were on the bone (a change in approach since our last visit)

In short, it was poor and not at all what I'd come to expect, we wont be returning anytime soon

Hi Starsky72,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are very sorry to hear that your last visit did not meet your expectations and the the high standards that we set ourselves and our restaurant...

The last couple of weeks during our half price buffet promotion have been exceptionally busy (more so than we could ever have anticipated), meaning we have been very stretched and left us at times very short staffed, which has unfortunately meant us failing to meet the heigh standards of customer service we expect of ourselves on some occasions.

We would would very much appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you further if you could send us an email to mirpuridhera@gmail.com.

Kind Regards,

Mirpuri Dhera

Discovered this gem through a deal monster voucher. Visited after buying voucher and had a fantastic meal with superb service. Came home and bought a further 3 vouchers. This is not the usual buffet restaurant. `these are usually poor food piled high, cold and dried up. Not the case at Mirpuri. Every time we have been the food is fresh, well presented and unbelievable quality. The service and staff are superb, very helpful and friendly. The last time we visited was a week ago Tuesday which was their 1st birthday. They were incredibly busy but we were seated within a couple of minutes and our drinks order taken a minute later. Even though there must have been well over 100 people in the food was as good as ever and the service was excellent. Food was always available and the only item I had to wait for was naan bread for about a minute. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
