After recently trying a similar ice cream parlour we decided to try Our Cow Molly after hearing much about it on Hallam FM over the years.
We went on a Sunday after lunch and fortunately it was a little bit drizzly as it was already really busy when we got there. I imagine on a hot day it's even more so. Parking is good and it's in a really lovely quiet part of the world with a nice drive out to it too.
The ice cream was very nice, the selection of flavours was good and I can highly recommend the jam roly poly one. The cherry bakewell flavour was okay, nothing special but the pear drop tasted spot on. One of us also had the panna cotta which I'm assured was lovely too. It's also a proper sized scoop which means it's good value for money. Price wise it was the same as the Yummy Yorkshire one we recently visited and that's still much cheaper than the place at Meadowhall.
The sausages, milk and cakes etc that were on sale all looked good and I saw a lot of people leaving with these things rather than ice cream.
There was plenty of sound coming from the kiddies play garden and everyone I saw there seemed to be enjoying it. It was nice being able to see the calves up close and it happened to be feeding time for the main herd while we were there too. Full handwashing facilities are available for after you've stroked and been licked by the adorable calves.
Again there's a distinct country air scent to be had so if you're sitting outside and have a sensitive tum it's something to bear in mind. Seating outside is in good supply both under cover and out on benches.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and it was nice to feel so far away from it all but only have to drive 10mins away from Hillsborough!
