Went to the dogs last night for my 40th with a group of friends, had an executive box, with celebratory pack. We had a self serve bar (all drinks came on one tab at the end) there are no prices of drinks displayed but we were drinking all night, bottles of cider, jugs of pimms, barcardi and coke, Britvic for the kids and we were all impressed at how reasonable to bar bill was. We did not have to go to the tote as they came to us, the staff were fantastic, really helpful and efficient, buffet was excellent and plenty of it. Only downside was that a dog collapsed (most likely dead) right outside our box while the kids were watching, I know this is one of the downsides to racing but the reaction from staff, trainers and vets should have been a lot faster as they did not realise the dog had gone down until we shouted. The race has several vets on site, why are they not stationed at points around the track all through racing to enable a quick response to any incidents? Apart from that we would definitely go back again.
