Saturday afternoon i spent a nice hour or so at Graze Inn on Ecclesall Rd Sheffield - first time i've eaten there because it's quite popular and i'd not been lucky previously when i tried to just drop in at busy times.. (so it's best to book in advance if you can for busy lunch and eve timeslots ) .. it was a late lunch for us tho so no probs getting a table this time. The place itself is very cool and funky in design, lots of stripped back wood furniture (old stuff but clean), contemporary lighting and just generally visually appealing aswell as laid back atmosphere. Kid friendly too, btw. It's a big place but the layout is good, (doesn't give too echo-y an effect with the noise levels, which can be annoying in these big places..) The concept is all about sharing food and 'grazing' rather than having hefty meals, though you can do that too (the rib eye steak was tempting me on the menu but maybe next time hey!! ;-p .. hence the Graze sharing platters, of which we ordered an italian one (vegetarian) between us - along with a glass of Prosecco each (yummm, t'was very tasty! .. and added a nice skip to our step as we left to carry on with our shopping outing afterwards : )) The service was good (we weren't given any sideplates, so had to ask for those, but other than that everything was fine) Cutlery clean, napkins real and big n crisp n white ..the waiting staff were lovely and smiley, genuinely nice and seem to enjoy working there : ). Our platter had lovely warm flatbread, stuffed vine leaves, delicious smoke-y tasting griddled haloumi and also mozzarella balls, olives, hummous, some kind of potato-ey thingymajig which was nice too, creamy stuffed little red peppers, tatziki and i can't remember what else, but it was all very tasty, perfectly presented and cooked, and enough for us two to nibble whilst we sipped and took the weight off our feet on a lovely sunny Sheffield shopping day Price of the platter was £12 and a glass of Prosecco was £4.50 each so our bill was £21 (with an 'optional' donation to the local hospital of £1 on top.. making it £22.. not sure how i feel about that being automatically included on the bill but oh well...) - We didn't feel rushed with our repast and i will definitely be going back again soon at some point. All good overall. Thanks to my daughter for introducing me to another top eatery. : )
