We always stay at the Garrison Hotel when we visit Sheffield especially for the footy. It's location works well for us. Although it is a few miles outside the city there is a good cheap tram service, a one day ticket can take you all over Sheffield, from Hillsborough to the city and to Meadowhall or Crystal Peaks. The hotel itself is very interesting, the rooms are the old officers quarters. The rooms themselves are a bit worn, the furniture a bit dated and the rooms could be a bit cleaner. Even though the bed was small we did have a good nights sleep, the hotel being very quiet and the room adequately warm. There is free parking and free wifi. There are back entrances to the bar and breakfast lounge saving walking around the road. The bar is well stocked with plenty of various beers and the food is very good. Some people slait the breakfast but we have find it ok. You have choice of cereals, fruit, croissants, toast and you can choose from 4 items from the menu. The price for b&b cannot be beaten. We would recommend a stay here.

We stayed at the Garrison for 2 nights while visiting friends, we found it to be well situated, with a very friendly atmosphere, the room was very clean and a good size, we ate in the bar/restaurant during the day and found it to be very good, there was also a good choice of cask beers on offer, I will definitely be staying there again in the future,

Stayed for one night in August whilst visiting my daughter.
Unusual design/layout but very nice rooms, comfy bed and free wifi.
Didn't stay for a meal at night but had breakfast the next morning which was okay-ish.
Not a bad price, better to stay here than a travelodge/days inn type of place.

Handy location and a free car park although you could have a fair walk to reception if it's busy!

Motel type accomodation. I find it very handy for the area of sheffield I need to visit. There is a bar/restaurant that you can go to. Next to a big supermarket. The breakfast is very good but they would do with a sign to let you know which part of the building you need to go to as I only knew by following my mum who had been before. Friendly staff and the room is fine for staying over - could perhaps do with a make over but was clean.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in August. The staff were friendly & helpful, the building, rooms and facilities were fine. Our room was spacious and clean. The big let down was the food. For the English Breakfast there is only a choice of 4 items from a list of egg, bacon, sausage, beans and CHOPPED TINNED TOMATOES!!! We ate there on the second evening and the menu was basic (Typical pub food) but my gourmet burger was like a discus and the Chicken Curry chosen by my wife was just about adequate. Such a shame.
