“Car Boot Sale !”
Reviewed September 16, 2011

Visited the Nichols Art & Craft Centre to have a look around and was disappointed. To begin with the parking is poor.

The lay-out is a little reminicent of a car boot sale and it wasn't clear what the floor plan is.

Some of the stuff for sale wasn't bad.

“WOW WOW WOW!”
Reviewed September 16, 2011

Ignore the first review here, this place is fantastic, evolving and definitely worth a visit... and a revisit!

The place is fairly new but holds lots of very inspiring people all under one roof. It is a hit with me. You can find everything from awesome photography, vintage finds and stunning art and hand made items (made in front of you!) from R&S downstairs or The Canvas Factory upstairs.

There are regular events that the building holds and its the sort of place where you can keep going and not get bored because of the vairety....

Parking wise, i'd suggest putting shepherd street in your sat nav, brings you right outside where there is street metered parking - but hey thats the same everywhere these days! or just walk from West Street - five mins!

“Lacks Identity- parking you have to pay for!”
Reviewed August 18, 2011

I visit many Antiques Centres and this one has me very confused!

On arrival we had to go round Sheffields one way system twice to find parking,we finally found Paid parking across to road and then had to cross a dual carriage way, once we diced with life and death we entered a very dull entrance with a concrete stairwell-very unattractive!

The hike up the three flights of stairs are not for the faint hearted- I'm reasonably fit 54 year old and I found it hard work.,Once up there I was met by no-one, the place was empty. When a young lady did appear she was pleasant, if, a little too -in your face.

There is alot of what I would say are first timers that have stalls, trying to break into what they obviously think is a good way to make a living for minimun effort, but to be fair they are trying and we cannot knock them for that!

All in all it was ok,but not for us Antiquers, it needs to get a real identity- It's Arts and Crafts- it is definitely aimed at the younger market- students etc. pref. on Foot and Fit.- so needs to concentrate on that rather than trying to be something it isn't.

All in all our visit was ok but we left empty handed and we wanted to spend but were uninspired.

I would say if you are looking for an Antiques Centre try Elsecar - Barnsley, Chapel and Sheffield Antiques - Broadfield rd or Barmouth court- Barmouth Rd.

The hike up to the 2nd floor is not for the aint haerted
