I loved this place when my kids were little, a fantastic day out to the tropical house with butterflies, terrapins, lizards, tarantulas, ants and monkeys. They are a bit big now (9 and 11) but I bet they'd still enjoy it. My only gripe, the food wasn't amazing and the Meerkats were promised but I never saw one. It's been a while since I've been so they may now have these.

We make a couple of trips each year to the Butterfly House. We have done this since the children were quite small and have seen the place grow as our children have grown. It is a wonderful place to get up close to many small animals. The shows that are hosted are both funny and informative.

We don't really rate the cafes - we take our own picnic - and usually get some hot/cold drinks there. As a place where families with young children go it would be nice to see the cafe have more fresh, healthy foods on offer - but this does not detract from the experience for us.

Overall, it is an enjoyable day out and we heartily recommend it to anyone who is looking for somewhere to take their children.

A great place for young families.
If the weather is nice you can spend the whole day.
The bird show is really entertaining and most of the younger ones love feeding the farm animals

My son was invited to a party, the party itself was organised brilliantly, with lots of games, activities and chances to meet and touch different animals. What was slightly annoying was that only one parent was allowed in per child in the party, so we ended up paying admission to attend a party?!
The grounds were relatively small and I was expecting more animals, bunnies and Guinea pigs are not particularly tropical.
My son who is 5 had a lovely time, but interestingly has not asked to return.
