Typical old school pub,its in the bus station so it is quite convienient to call in. This pub must be one of the oldest in sheffield an is said to be linked by a tunnel to manor castle,my auntie used to work there when i was a child and she always said that it was haunted!

“Surprising Find in a Modern City Centre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

I loved this place. Surrounded by modern buildings, this little pub is a gem of olde worlde charm and character. My daughter works in the building opposite, and uses this pub on a Friday evening to wind down after a week of toil. She was more than happy to take me (a real ale nut) to "her pub". And I approved.

I only had chance to sample one of the ales on show, but it was a damned good pint, well kept and fresh and tasty. I would have happily stayed there the rest of the night, but I had a family in tow, and "her indoors" would have frowned on it, I suspect.

Next time I visit my daughter, I will be back to this lovely pub, maybe on a Friday night to join her in the weekly wind-down. Can't wait.

“Oldest pub in Sheffield”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2012

OK, wasn't always a pub, so there are debates about the oldest pub in Sheffield, but it is the oldest building that is now used as a pub, next to the bus station (Interchange), near the railway station, and decent ale and good value food!
