It was lovely - would like to go back when the weather is a little kinder.... although the Pavillions were interesting and well kept

“Beautiful gardens at any time of year”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Beautiful, clean park with good access and smooth paths for buggies and wheelchairs. There's a nice cafe in the park, cafes and restaurants nearby and often an ice cream van nearby too.

“Great gardens”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

Lovely gardens -well worth a visit. Easy to walk around although some steps and inclines. We visited on a lovely sunny day - even though it was a bit blowy, and went to the cafe on site.

“Lovely place to visit”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

The gardens are near where our son lives so always go for a walk when the weather is mild. There are large grassy areas to play football or games, and the lily pond with seating is lovely and quiet. We take our grandchild to see the old bear pit, with the brown fake bear statue in it, and there is an indoor plant house with plants from various countries and a very relaxing setting. There is the Curator's House cafe at the top of the gardens selling sandwiches, cakes and pastries and full meals with an outdoor seating area. There is a small shop near the main entrance selling trinkets, toys and nuts for the squirrels, which run all about the park. It is one of our favourite places to visit and recommend it to anyone.
