Sheffield Round Walk
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Whether you want to do all 14 miles at once or take it a bit at a time, you will discover woodlands, historic buildings, hills, meadows, industrial sites, parks, shopping areas, gardens, residential streets, cloughs, farms, schools, fields, rivers and streams. Each quadrant of the walk is accessible by public transport and there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments or meals,

A wondrous round walk through the greener pastures of the steel city. Takes in woodland, parks and some roads with a couple of pubs for refreshment on the way round to boot. Rambling refresh.

We have never completed the walk in one day, but recently did the last section of the walk, which we had completed in six separate walks. Every part of the walk is a delight, from the woody glades to the urban streets, almost always the sections are quiet treasures, the exception being from Endcliffe through to Ringinglow, but this section does have the advantage of excellent cafes. This autumn we have found boots to be a necessity, as it can be quite wet underfoot, but a lovely way of spending a Saturday afternoon.

It is probably surprising to people from other parts of the country to discover how much scenic countryside there is in close proximity to Sheffield.A good way to findout about this is the Sheffield Round Walk.
