“GET AWAY FROM IT ALL”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2013

Lovely place its the gateway to the Derbyshire, Peak District. It starts just outside the busy Hillsborough area and winds its way out into the countryside. There is a play area for children and a café which does get quite busy and is very good. There is the river running all the way through the nature trail and few dams where people sit and fish. It is a hot spot for runners and walkers as it is so pleasant. Sometimes if I have time to kill I park at one of the dams and watch the people fishing. Easy to park, nice walks, nice café, very picturesque.

“Lovely for a day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2013

Spent a whole day going down this in May this year with friends, lovely scenery and miles of trails to walk. Worth it if you have a day free.

“Lovely day out!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

The river is absolutely beautiful and the trail is lovely and peaceful. Myself and partner came here in October 2013 and it was very wet and cold, so would recommend earlier in the year. However; the weather did not ruin our day. We walked across stepping stones to get to an old chair in the middle of the river, and we also walked across the stones that were slightly submerged to get to the other side. It took us about 3 hours, however we was walking fairly slow and were stopping on route. The cafe is lovely and make a lush cuppa! Do wear wellies if you want to cross the stones! :-)

“Ancestral Home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2013

Three stories here industrial development and Social and natural History.

The trail takes you back in time more than 200 years through the development of the Rivelin Valley as a place of industrial, human and natural development.

If you manage to find the Roscoe Wheel then you have found my ancestral home. Stand looking at the wheel housing from the bridge and the family cottages stood just to the right of the wheel.

When fully functioning there were 7 wheels spanning the length of the valley from Malin Bridge to where the Valley is met by the A57 snake pass by the old Rivelin Post Office.

All that walking tires you out call for a coffee at the Rivelin paddle Pool.

“A great walk with pubs”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

You can take this beautiful country walk from the bottom of riverlin road alway up to old hospital. On a beautiful day you can spend the day walking between the old dams. There is a park with a coffee shop, the coffee shop isn't great. There are pubs along the route where you can buy lunch or dinner. Once at the end you can catch the bus back.
