Reviewed December 29, 2012

what a fantastic visit, you really must visit this unasuming museum, nothing much to look at from the outside but what a treasure when you are inside, staff and exhibits are superb, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, my three grandkids were completely blown away with the place, i/we cannot recomend the place enough, go and have a really tremendous time there yourself.

“Great short day trip indoors for kids”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

Great location to take children and lots of old engines and things to climb on. Benefits from the heritage of being in the original fire station but can be cold in winter and would benefit from investment in the cafe. However low entry fee is more than value for money for a couple of hours

“Museum with extra....ghosts!!!”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

My husband and I went on a paranormal investigation arranged by an external company. Looking around the museum initally it looked as though it had some interesting items to look at; particularly as my husband's father is a retired police officer, so some of the items he recognised as being used by his father. The old fire and police vehicles were wonderful and I'm sure would delight 'boys' of all ages! We experienced a lot of paranormal activity, but if you're scared of ghosts, don't worry because I'm sure it is different in the day light!

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Went today with our 10 year old daughter. Was interesting for children and adults. However, I do think if you are thinking of going to take note of what it says on their website about wearing warm clothes, it was freezing today! It is not very expensive so is worth a visit and to support the charity. Don't expect to be there hours though, I think we were in and out in an hour or so.
