Review of Five Weirs Walk

Five Weirs Walk
Reviewed February 12, 2013

We manage to get to part of this once a month, usually on a Sunday morning. We have seen;
fish, kingfishers, blue t*ts, great t*ts, coal t*ts, long tailed t*ts, sloes, butterflies, jays, thrush, Attercliffe cemetary.
The canal bank is often filled with fishermen and it is easy to forget you are within striking distance of town. A lovely place to unwind.

Decided to take this walk to Meadowhall on a nice Summer's day last year.

This is a great way to spend some time seeing a different side of Sheffield. Some of the parts are a bit run down but not too much.

I would recommend this to all as it's an easy walk that finishes in Meadowhall so easy to get back into town.

Not all good walk are in National Parks. This is a walk through a 300 year industrial heritage. The Trust that created this walk have done a marvellous job. Often ugly, often strewn with litter, signage ok but not brilliant, but utterly compelling. Easy to follow from Meadowhall - just follow the river upstream.
