“Bingham Park Tennis Courts”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

I used to live near, and therefore play regularly at Bingham Park Courts. I have been away from Sheffield for 3 years, have come back and on Sunday was saddened to see the state of disrepair that the courts are now in. The netting has been pulled down, the surfaces are damaged and some of the nets are missing. It's a real, real shame. In my opinion, these courts are in a very special location, with wonderful views and it looks likely that they will become a part of history soon :(. Guess that's what happens when the council runs out of money....

“Play tennis in the woods!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2005

Bingham Park situated up on a large hill with spectacular views over to Ranmoor Church and across the city is the perfect place for a sporting afternoon! There are about ten tennis courts, all of pretty good quality (all nets are fine, each court is surrounded by netting & the surface is tarmac-like.) One of the courts is "astro turf" and this one can be used also. It's great as it only costs £1.60 for a court for an unlimited time period. Rackets are available in the "clubhouse", along with golf clubs for the mini golf, also situated in Bingham. Down the hill is a large boules area, popular with the locals! Further down the hill, you arive at the moin road, and the start of the Whitely Woods walks. Whitely Woods features good, claer paths along a flat valley floor that can be followed right out into the peak district. There is also a great cycle path running alongside, offering a gentle ride along the banks of the River Porter. A fantastic day out!!
