“Like being at home without the dishes”

I wouldn't have thought it was necessary to write a review for a Premier Inn, after all budget hotel, modern comforts at affordable prices, what else is there to say, well that was what I thought till visiting the Arena Premier in Sheffield. Stepping inside with the little pokey reception my heart sank but that was the last negative thought for the rest of my stay. The guy behind the reception welcomed us like we were part of the family, relaxed, laughing, informative and so helpful, what a breath of fresh air. He even found a member of staff with an Iphone 5 charger so that my daughter could charge her phone while we had dinner. He took it away and brought it back as we sat and enjoyed what was a top class meal. OK, so it wasn't fine dining, but what is was, was well presented, well seasoned, tasty hot food and plenty of choice at a very reasonable price, The restaurant is small but tastefully presented. The staff in the restaurant were warm, friendly and I'm so sorry I didn't get anyone's name to praise them individually. However to the manager - your staff working the evening shift on March 14th, are a credit to Premier. Breakfast was amazing value for money and how they fitted everything into such a small place is a testament to how well thought out the space is. With a choice of pastries, yoghurts, fresh fruit, breads, crumpets and hot buffet items all for a staggering £8.25 AND my daughter got to eat for FREE! Rooms are what you expect, have what you need, beds are comfy, everything is clean and well maintained. What makes this hotel stand out is the staff it was like staying with your favourite relative, warm, relaxed and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks guys for a wonderful stay.

You would most likely be visiting this area for one of the large venues in the area ( mine was the English Institute of Sport ) and so you most likely wouldn't spend too much time in the hotel. The room was modern and well equipped and had the basics well covered. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is small but is well run and I found the food very good. If you don't fancy the food or its busy in the restaurant almost every large food chain outlet is represented within a 5 minute car drive. Whilst I thought the room price was a little high this was justified by the helpful staff

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have traffic noise

We have stayed here a lot over the last few months and have been happy with our stays. The breakfast staff, in particular Jackie, Mick & Kevin, have been fantastic. (From observations in the restaurant I would estimate that half the regular visitors choose to return because of the welcome! I would worry that Jackie would be poached if I was the one in charge!) The rooms were always fine and housekeeping were efficient. Only complaint was the manager who refused to sort out an issue when I had been overcharged in the restaurant the night before. Despite the fact that having stayed there for weeks and it being my first complaint should have been able to sort it out - although yes I should have checked the bill (forgotten glasses!)

Spent the night here after my wife had laser eye surgery in Sheffield. Staff were very helpful and allowed us to store medication in there fridge that was required on a regular basis.

We had the evening meal and breakfast deals we find this very good value for money.

The room was comfortable and very quiet even though it is on a main road.

Dining room has recently been refurbished resulting in less tables and a tiny breakfast buffet area in the morning. Lack of staff numbers and high guest numbers made for carnage on Saturday evening. At 7.15 pm we were told a table would not be available until 8.45. We pitched up as requested and by 9.10 pm we were still staring at a full to overflowing dining area. We left and got served within 10 mins at "Table Table" over the road (Ironic that it is part of same group), as recommended by the hotel member of staff.

Stayed here overnight on a few occasions over the past few years, mainly because of iit`s location to the Motorpoint Arena. Very tidy rooms with everthing that you would require for an overnight stay, can arrange a pre-concert meal so that saves a little wander around as it can get quite busy on concert evenings, the establishment is absolutely ideally situated as you can visibily see the area from the Inn, a short stroll just accross the road of about 10 mins and you`re there! friendly staff and an excellent breakfast either Full English of Continental. Also ideal for next day retail therapy as the Meadowhall Shopping Complex is a 5 min drive down the road

Room Tip: have always had a rear room, so main road traffic noise not a problem
