“Soulless, cold arena”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

Visited the arena for the first time with friends to see Mrs Browns Boys Fri 6th Dec. Very poor experience overall. Venue is too large for a small 'sitcom' style production. Sat towards the rear of the central area and could hardly make out the people on stage. Yes, could look at the large screens adjacent to the stage, but I did not pay to come here to look at a 'tv' as I could do that at home. Loads of people further away than we were. Cold draught blew on our legs from the large open entrances to the side. As regards the show, very little new material and it seemed to be just a re-run of the tv show with well rehearsed ad-libs. Love the shows history, but such productions should be in more personal theatre type venues, not massive money making arenas which are more suited to large music gigs. Very disappointing experience.

Visited last night to watch Mrs Browns Boys and had a great night. Very busy car park but efficient entry system for a large crowd.

“Food needs a good re-think”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

Went to see For the love of Mrs Brown on Dec 3rd. The show was brilliant. Brendan O Carrol and cast did the tv show proud. On the very negative side the food from the food outlet near the back of the arena was to say the least terrible. After a wait of over half an hour to get to the front of the que we ordered a chicken burger £5 and a beef burger £5. Both of which looked appetising from the pics on the overhead advertising tv's. Aftera fruther 15 min wait for the food I eagerly opened the bread bun to the sight of three peices of damp lettuce and two very small chicken strips. No mayo no tomato or ketchup as shown on the tv's. Disappointed was not the word. Motor point Arena please buck your ideas up and start giving value for money, please. Tut tut! !

“Mrs Browns Boys”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

Attended the arena 5th December to see Mrs Browns Boys, nightmare journey due to accidents on M1, 3 1/2 hours to travel 50 miles. Once off the motorway access into the arena was slow, but straightforward. We had pre booked car parking and there seemed to be a separate area which meant we were parked really quickly. Once inside there were plenty of staff to advise on the best route to our seats. The show did start about 30 mins later than advertised due to the traffic but was well worth the wait.
The show was absolutely amazing, yes it is material that was in the series but with additional bits, this in no way detracted from our enjoyment of the evening, the cast were on brilliant form and the 3 overhead screens enabled us to see the facial expressions clearly. A good 2 1/2 hours later the show was over and we were expecting a long wait to start our journey home. We were very pleasantly surprised to find, that once we were in the car, it took less than 5 minutes to be on our way.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable night out, the show was fantastic, full credit to all involved
