At Victoria Quay. Easy walk to much of Sheffield. Step outside to the water front. There is a nice cafe and pub on the water next to the hotel. It is close to Don River a walk to Kelham Island is very well with in reach of most.

Just because a hotel was built many years ago, does not mean it still has to look like the past.

Dated everything, horrible harsh lighting in the rooms, terrible windows which had no soundproofing and bedroom doors which slammed shut and could be heard at all hours.

The shower was so weak that I never felt clean. There were two lifts but one wasn’t working, with no explanation given. The lift couldn’t have looked any older and must be one of the very first ones ever made. Again, something small which could be updated to improve the hotel. The stairwell absolutely stinks of staleness and the carpet is dirty and fraying. Such small things but no attention to detail. How can the hotel manager be proud of a place with such obviously rectifiable flaws?

After a terrible room, I then received shocking service at breakfast. Arrived at 7:45 to be told there was no tables and I would have to wait. I wasn’t even offered a drink. Worst thing was, there was tables made up for 4 people that were empty and could easily have been split. I passed these comments onto the great staff at reception, who informed the restaurant manager.

The gym is big but very dirty and dusty and the machinery has been very badly maintained. The pool looked good but the jacuzzi was closed with no explanation given. The desk staff at the gym were rude and standing around chatting, instead of greeting me. The lady had her head on the desk and staring at the floor, which was a terrible welcome. Can’t help but think what these people are paid for, as the gym is filthy and they weren’t in there giving lessons either.

Overall, a terrible experience with no redeeming features. Following the breakfast saga, I received no apology or small gesture like a drinks token, which seems standard in other Hiltons.

Not worth the price and tarnishes the Hilton brand.

Too many sub standard issues to raise in detail.

I called the HH recovery team and even they were shocked by how bad things are in this property.

I was lied to, patronised, not upgraded, made to feel bad.

Would NEVER return here.

This should not carry the Hilton brand.

Arrived at hotel to be told our room had been upgraded for free, got put in a huge room with a ridiculously big bed - it was great! Got to the room, there was balloons, cake, confetti, a card & prosecco as it was my boyfriends birthday. I really wasn’t expecting it. Had late check out for no extra charge too. Great stay, lovely staff, immaculately clean, nice rooms. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our stay so special!!

Afternoon tea was disappointing to say the least. Granted, we had a Groupon voucher and I didn't expect much, but only 2 types of sandwiches were provided. I think one was coronation chicken, I have no idea what the other one was, it was just a sloppy mess and I didn't try them they looked so bad. Some of the group who did try them said they made such a mess of the plate that they had to eat the scones from the tea saucer. The water was off, the toilets didn't flush and you couldn't wash your hands. On the plush side, the prosecco was very nice, but not worth the cost of the voucher just for a glass of prosecco.
