“swimming pool starting to show it's age”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

come here annually for the national masters swim event. The centre has much more than swimming (this review), such as a full gym and trampoline facilities, but the pool itself is reasonable for its age, There is very little or no natural light giving the impression of swimming in a cave, the a/c is ok pool-side but gets really oppressively warm in the viewing gallery. The water quality is excellent both by taste and also by visibility (you can see up to 25m). Changing rooms are clean and the showers are simple to use, but a little short on water volume. The cafeteria area is ok with plenty of seating, but can get backlogged for lunch and breakfast. The food is as to be expected from a council outsourced sports centre, franchised to the cheapest supplier, greasy, over cooked and dry, there are plenty of other, healthier and better food places within a short walk.

“Well used and well loved”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

Once again attended for swimming gala. Luckily this time I was on pool side but previous visits as a spectator have left me drained. My biggest criticism is the heat in the venue - it can't be healthy for either spectators or swimmers.

Overall the venue is clean and runs efficently. there is seating in the cafe area where you can relax as well as eat. The food is reasonable quality and priced well.

Oh yes what a pool and olympic sized to. Well it looked that way to me as our local pool is so small. Nice and warm to that was much appreciated.
