Description: Welcome to the Cricket Inn, a warm welcoming pub nestled near the village of Totley. Starting it's life as a farmhouse and became a pub when the Totley train tunnel was built in the 19th century to shorten the distance to Manchester. It is currently run by chef Richard Smith and Thornbridge Brewery under the BrewKitchen group. Our resident in house Chef has been able to bring his Portuguese flair to the pub and has created some amazing and sumptuous dishes that suit all the family. We are proud to produce a range of events at the Cricket Inn and offer Real Ale Nights, a Gin Menu as well as the chance to hire the venue for a party or celebration. Quality is what we aim for so why not pop in and say hello and tell us what you think here!

“Underwhelming!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

I last visited the Cricket Inn a couple of years ago as part of a family celebration. Thought it was ok but expensive. Decided to give it another try,as I was in the area and the reviews looked quite promising. I started with sweet potato and sage soup. This was really disappointing, and had the consistancy of baby food, and was over seasoned. Followed it with a roasted vegetable and pesto tart. This came with a portion of fries . It was tasty but nothing special ,and at £12 seriously overpriced. Didn't try a dessert as the first two courses didn't inspire me to! The staff were friendly, well spoken and efficient and the pub is in a lovely setting, but unfortunately I won't be rushing back.

“Scrummy Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

Have had mid week lunch at the Cricket Inn lots of times but went for Sunday lunch for the first time today. Very glad I booked a table for as they were full when we arrived at 12.30. Seated straight away, orders taken promptly and food served promptly. The baked Aubergine was a flavoursome vegetarian option whilst the rest of my family had various fish dishes. Lots of staff on so service was quick, without being too hurried. No space for pudding, but really enjoyed the homemade fudge and biscuits with the tea and coffee.

“Dog and family friendly with great food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

Met up with family for lunch here and had a lovely meal - fish and chips were great and the burger looked delicious. The kids meals were also good quality, not your bog standard orange fish fingers!
Good selection of real ale and friendly service from the staff. Would definitely make a return trip.

“Local with a hearty fire”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

Been going for years
Beautiful spot and good food albeit in recent times the portions have become significantly smaller and more expensive
Can sometimes look a bit grubby in pub area but dogs welcome and a roaring fire
Often walk there
