“Instant unhappiness”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2013 via mobile

We had the all day brekkie, which was relatively good, although the fried bread was on the oily side.
When ordering breakfast however, there is a big coffee machine, fresh? beans, etc on display. The all day breakfast comes with a free coffee... Result!!! Not so, the coffee they plonk in front of you is the old style instant coffee, that in this day and age really has no place in any restaurant or cafe establishment.
When my friend asked about the "real" coffee, he was sneered at by the non friendly staff member, and told that it would be of extra cost to have proper coffee. Fair enough if there was a sign or somebody had told us before we ordered.
It would have been nice to have been asked if we would like to change them, but the server had already dismissed us, and gone on to the next punter.

Sum up... Food okay, "coffee" awful, service terrible.

“Best Breakfast in town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I were looking for a decent breakfast place and came across this quirky little place. Not much to look at but The food smelled amazing and we were impressed that they offer a vegetarian option.
When the food arrived we were blown away by how much food was on the plate for the amount we payed.
It was amazingly cooked and very tasty! Perfect hangover breaky!

Will be back

“Good Brekkie”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

it is a good breakfast - over priced for what you are eating and the decor is awful but if you want some greasy food then go to the gorge as it is an amazing hangover cure!!

“Tasty bacon sarnie”

A good place to stop for a bacon sarnie before or after you have hit the shops and spent all your money. We often sit outside as the cars wiz past.

“Great greasy spoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

Having lived in Reading for some time, and heard lots of people rave about it, I went here for the first time at the weekend and wasn’t disappointed. Don’t get me wrong if you’re after fine dining this isn’t the place, but if you enjoy a good fry up then this is a great greasy spoon to choose. You feel your arteries hardening as you eat each mouthful but then life would be boring if all we ate was celery! So get yourself along for the all-day breakfast and do it properly like me - have the fried bread (not the toast) and substitute the beans/tomato for another sausage.
