Went here for afternoon tea expecting a traditional, cosy sort of setting but it is very modern with wooden floors, no table cloth on the plain table, clean but not much atmosphere, only one other couple there in the two hours we were there on a Friday afternoon.
There was no menu but when the tea arived, there were three finger sandwiches each, one salmon (very nice) one ham and tomato (also nice) and cream cheese and cucumber which I cant eat. I had to go to the counter to ask for a replacement, which was brought. The tea cups were the thick shallow wide variety which meant the tea was cold within afew minutes of being poured out. Again I had to get up and go to the counter to ask for the teapot to be topped up with boiling water. At no time did anyone come to the table to ask if everything was O.K. The glass of bubbly was O.K.
The scones were the worst I've ever had - hard and doughy and a strange grey colour inside. The cream was OK but the jam was the cheapest type of (mixed fruit? ) set jelly. With a small pot of jam per two persons, it is strange to economise with such cheap jam) Whoever made the scones had absolutely no idea!
There were three tiny cakes each, nice but only a mouthful in each and nothing like the fancy cakes shown on the Groupon offer, which looked absolutely delicious and expensive - very misleading.
Very disappointing and hardly worth the Groupon price we paid.
