Lovely escape from the Reading high street. You could be anywhere in this hotel, same with all Malmaisons really. I like dark, but this was a little too much for me, I could barley see my room or my food in the restaurant! do like the bed, bath and shower.. and the fact you get good size toiletries to use for once!.... The restaurant menu was quite diverse and the food tasted good. The chocolate pot pudding was utterly amazing.... Breakfast was tasty, would have like a bit more option on the hot food front for veggies though.

Nice room, although it was overlooking the road and got abit noisy as it was a saturday night (kebab shop across the road!) the room was small, but having the bathroom going downstairs made it appear bigger. brilliant set up near the train station and close to town centre.
we also ate in the restaurant, it was nice, but for what the price said, i dont know if it was worth it.
it is a nice idea for a weekend away, but would only go again if we got a deal

Room Tip: away from road if you dont want to hear the revellers!

The Mailmeson is placed in a very convenient position: close to the railway station and the bus stop to TVP. You may have a good dinner there and the rooms are good. The style is a bit dark with all walls and fornitures black, maybe trendy, but... a bit depressing. Only one tip: avoid rooms in the basement, they are cold and noisy. For the second time in a raw I've been given a room under the reception and all the night there were people walking over my head. Good breakfast.

Two night stay in Malmaison Reading. Room was very clean and well appointed. Bathroom was great particularly the shower. Staff were very attentive and provided excellent recommendations. A little noise from outside later at night but it didn't bother us. Great location ideal for a romantic getaway

Spent a Saturday night in the Orient Express and thought it was superb - great Bose music, Good deals on the Verve Clique (brought to the room), great bath - really good experience.
Had meal in the restaurant as well - this was very good, but the tables were a little too close together - although it did not spoil the occasion.
Would definately recomend and will return!
