“Great choice, friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

Fantastic selection of beer and great cheese - have never been able to make it past without buying something. The cheese in particular has proved to be very popular with family and friends and the options are varied - the staff have always been extremely helpful and happy.

“Independent & great selection! ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014 via mobile

Great selection and content! Nice to find a hidden gem in Reading which is independently run and not another chain.
Bought a selection of beers which were all super tasty and reasonably priced. - see note below re: staffing/advice if required.

Suggestion/Note : The shop is run by two girls, if you are wanting advice or help whist shopping wait for them to be in store!
We were served today with two males in the shop (7th June 2014) - only willing to help struggling females with their purchases. Giving any males a "you should know this already" look offering us no help & when I asked what time they close a reply of "it's on the door" reply. The man who served us (wearing apron dark long hair) was polite and did as required. Other staff (fat & unshaven) male member helped only when a female entered and whist scruffily dressed, sat on a chair munching customer cheese samples and looking miserable as sin when we motioned "hello" & "goodbye" without replying. The boy with the apron asked for help from him with the customer ahead of us who asked about home delivery receiving the reply of "oh I dunno go on their website".

We receivers no offer of help after my effort to do so but over heard them telling many female customers it's up to the girls as it's their shop - when asking about how they sourced their beers or promotions. Staff should embrace it as their shop/career and pitch in as if it's their own. Clearly some divide or minimill effort given by said male. Disappointing note I feel the need to add as it's such a wonder to find something so exciting in Reading and would be sad to loose customers over staffing issues.

“You will not be disappointed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2014

Great selection of ales and cheeses all served with big smiles! This was only my second visit but there were a good number of new beers in so can only hope they continue the trend. Very difficult to walk out without buying something!

“A little gem in downtown Reading”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2014

A real gem in an interesting arcade. Very nice selection of bottled beers at reasonable prices and a small selection of cheeses that are hard to find elsewhere that my family, guests and I like a whole lot. The best I’ve found since County Deli closed.

Counter staff are nice and, all-in-all, it’s a very pleasant shopping experience.

Reading really is a better place for having shops like this in operation.

“Gluten Free Beer”

A fantastic place. Amongst the great cross section of craft ales they stock some Gluten Free Beers so even Coeliacs can join in with the supping!
