Visited with my father who is 91 and ex RAF. Was made very welcome by the volunteers who are a mine of information. This is truly a little known treasure on the outskirts of Reading that deserves more publicity. The staff are very well meaning giving up their time and the museum reflects their enthusiasm with a lot of "work in progress" which shows their commitment. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Visited Museum on20th.July,2013.facinating place to visit. A small museum but has facinating local history with global impact re aviation. I enjoyed this visit and encourage all to visit this museum.
This establishment need to advertise their existence, to enable local as well as international visitors to this great museum.

“Excellent overall”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

The old couple on reception could be a bit more friendly and the refreshment facilities could be improved upon but ... overall my experience was excellent and interesting. Well done !!

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

I never knew about this until I found it on Tripadvisor and decided on the day to go. Although a bit out of the way if travelling by public transport, it is reachable and well worth it. Interesting exhibits about Reading's hidden aviation history (to me, anyway!) and how this place is linked to Douglas Bader, breaking the sound barrier and the Handley-Page company. Recommended, especially as it's only £3.50 for adults.

“A lot of material in a small space”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

This museum will be of particular interest to anyone studying the history of Woodley aerodrome and the Miles aircraft company. There is a great deal of material packed into a small piece which makes it seem very cramped but I understand the museum has plans to expand. Free parking, reasonable entry fee and coffee/tea available just inside the entrance.
