“Good but could be improved upon”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

First time at Cote in Reading although I've been to many other branches. Good service although quiet on a dull & chilly Monday lunchtime. Had the 2 course set menu for £9.95 - good value with choice of 4 starters & 4 mains. Only annoying thing was having to pay a £2 supplement each for the steak frites. If you advertise a £9.95 2 course menu that's what it should be - don't put dishes with supplements on it!

My other grievance was that there were no signs indicating where the toilets were. I asked a member of staff, who pointed up the stairs - I replied that it would be useful to have a sign at the bottom of the stairs, to which he replied 'There's a sign upstairs!' Rather a pointless answer as I was sitting downstairs!

“French equals perfection”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

We visited Cote last week on a busy Saturday night. The food was excellent my wife had tender salmon with vegetables and I went for their 2 course lunch menu. I am speechless, service, food, atmosphere it all was magnificent. We highly recommend Cote and are interested in visiting them on Christmas as their Christmas offer looks so appealing.
Amazing experience, highly recommended.

“Consistently good quality”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

Once again I can find little if anything negative to say about our trip to Cote Brasserie in Reading the food was excellent and the service attentive. Food highlights were the Prawn Gratine (in a tomato and chilli sauce), the slow roasted pork belly and the cheese and biscuits.

Note that Cote adds the 'optional' service charge of 12½% to your bill.

“Excellent food and service”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

We went early on a Saturday (5pm) and it was fairly quiet. We had an excellent meal, the highlights were prawn gratine and tuna nicoise salad, followed by crepe with Grand Marnier, but none of our food disappointed. We would definitely go again.
