“Great meal at the Winning Hand”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

We visited the Winning Hand on 15th December for a family pre-Christmas lunch. We received a warm welcome and the service was very efficient and unobtrusive. We were a party of 18 which covered 3 generations including 2 toddlers and all were very satisfied with the location (easy to find), parking, attractive decor of the restaurant area which was very pleasant, and most of all the quality of the food. We were able to choose from 3 menus and all dishes were very well presented and of a very high standard - great value for money and we will certainly be back again - no hesitation in recommending this establishment.

“Well done on efficient service”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

We drove for 2 hours to meet up with family for Sunday lunch at The Winning Hand.
The food and service were good.

A warm greeting at the bar on arrival was followed by efficient service in the restaurant which was busy with other large groups.

A good value meal in a convenient location with plenty of staff resulted in a pleasurable experience.

Give it a go!

Book in advance.

“Sunday lunch”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

Famiy birthday get together for 10. Great value Sunday lunch menu £14.95 for two courses and £17.95 for 3. Generous Brie portions, lovely Pea and Ham soup and beautiful crostini with marinated sardines. Huge Yorkshire puddings, generous amount of potatoes and vegetables. I had home made curry which was lovely, it had a perfect heat. New Forest ice creams were scrummy and my 12 year old son devoured the chocolate fudge cake. The childrens menu is £4.25 they were very accommodating with menu changes. All food served hot and together. Would have liked more offers of drinks and more attention to the table but otherwise a lovely meal.

“Already planning our next visit”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Our first visit to the Winning Hand was as a family party of ten for Sunday lunch. The delicious starters set the scene for what was a very successful visit. They coped well with ten orders at once and the food was served hot and tasty. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and we are already planning a return visit.

“Really nice meal, really nice people”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Ate in a group of four midweek for an evening meal. First thing that stands out is the friendly efficient staff, service was very good and all with a smile (which is always nice) this was my second visit here and i was not dissapointed again, glad we went back. Easy parking, the pub is split into two areas, a cosy beamed pub end and a more modern restaurant end. As it was mid week we opted for the cosy pub end. As a note or those that care, toilets are newly decorated and spotless!
Had scallops to start, and thought them excellent, followed by pie of the day which was steak and ale. Big chunks of tender home cooked beef top and bottom ith crisp puff pastry, lots of veg with mash, what more could you want, well sticky toffee pudding with ice cream as it happens. Although i chose traditional pub grub, my colleagues chose more upmarket fare which proved just as delicious. Glad i went back, and will certainly stop by again when in the area.
