“Brilliant customer service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2012

My sister and I had a one night stay at The Star Inn Woodstock this week. We were warmly greeted and shown to our lovely room which we immediately felt at home in. Gorgeous comfy bed and decor.

The location of the Hotel cannot be surpassed for a visit to Bleinheim Palace.

We needed a cab to take us to Hanborough Station for our return home but the Manager kindly offered to take us and we accepted. This hotel wrote the manual for " Customer Service" a skill lost in many Hotels.

If you are going to beautiful Woodstock, stay at the Star Inn to enhance your trip.

On Monday August 6th my mother, husband + I called in at Woodstock after a shopping trip to Bicester Village. My mother is in a wheel chair which prevented her from climbing the front door steps. When I asked the barman if there was another entrance he told us to go around the back where he was waiting with the gate open. The food was served promptly and was very good. I can recommend The Star - friendly barstaff and excellent food.

We had a beautiful room, excellent food, fabulous weather and everybody was very friendly. Within walking distance to Blenheim palace and easy driving distance to other beautiful villages. Can't wait to return . The village of woodstock is lovely.

This is a traditional pub in a lovely village which houses Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill. The room was roomy and lovely, very traditional. The breakfast was great and the people lovely. Would stay there in a minute.

Decent selection of beers and lagers - including one Japanese lager and Red Stripe on draught. Good food not over the top prices. I thoroughly enjoyed my Pork fillet stuffed with black pudding, wrapped in ham and served on colcannon - excellent. Nice courtyard garden and some seats out front to people watch. Brill

My review is similar to the previous ones really. Its a pub with a pub atmosphere in the busy bar. We enjoyed the Tuesday quiz and ate in the bar that night to be sure of a table, very snug beside the fire. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Room clean and bathroom great. I enjoyed reading on the window seat of our room watching the activity in the square outside. You can walk into Blenheim easily, and my husband enjoyed a walk around the lake early on our second morning, When you go to the Palace you automatically get a years pass.
Stairs are a challenge with a suitcase but the fire escape is a slightly easier route and you have a key to get back in. If the rain ever stops there are pleasant tables outside. Parking was easy in the square but may not always be so.

Room Tip: On the front could be noisy on a warm night I guess.

Great old pub in the main square beside the town hall - don't miss it!
