Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your recent stay.
The hotel is only 3 years old and has a very modern ventilation system that brings fresh air into the rooms - this should not cause a disturbance though and we will look into this.
There are two bus routes that run into the city centre with the bus stop being about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
We hope to welcome you back to Oxford soon.
I had a really warm welcome at this very new, modern hotel. The room was very nice, with great decor and a comfortable bed. The free Wi-Fi was relatively slow (4.3Mbps with a 6ms ping when I measured it). The bathroom was clean and well-equipped, with a decent shower and a heated mirror. The desk in the room was more akin to a shelf, and therefore impractical. The plug sockets were inconveniently located to the side of the TV, placed so low down that they were impossible to use with anything using an adaptor, such as a laptop.
The 'restaurant' was deeply unimpressive, with cheap, dirty cutlery and a vastly overpriced, basic selection of evening meals. I had spaghetti and garlic bread bites. Both of which appeared to have been microwaved from a packet. The bites were particularly poor - a small dry selection that I think cost about £6. The self-serve breakfast was much better, on par with the Hampton standards I've experienced at many of their other hotels. I'd happily stay here again, but I'd highly recommend using one of the proper restaurants that are a short walk round the corner.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your recent stay at the Hampton by Hilton Oxford and for rating the hotel 4 out of 5 on tripadvisor.
I am sorry to read that you did not enjoy the bar food - we are currently reviewing the menu and are meeting with various different food suppliers to explore alternative options.
We hope to welcome you back to Oxford soon.
Breakfast is good but I got hardly any sleep because the smoke detector alarm flashes continuously. Breakfast is good and lots of variety. Location is not great as there is only one bus into oxford. Only stay here if you have a car!
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback.
Fire / smoke detectors in hotel bedrooms have a small red light that flashes intermittently - this is not unique to us as all the hotel's I have managed have had the same.
There are two bus routes that run into the city centre and the bus stop is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We have also negotiated a fixed rate with a local taxi firm for our guests because parking in Oxford is really expensive and there isn't much of it.
I am sorry to have read that these issues affected your stay at the hotel but hope to welcome you back to Oxford soon.
Great hotel. Rooms were clean and well laid out, shower was good, and staff very friendly, providing help whenever we needed it. Having air conditioning was fantastic. Would be good to be able to order a newspaper and having a bar that stayed open beyond 11pm.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your recent stay at the Hampton by Hilton Oxford and for rating the hotel 5 out of 5 on tripadvisor.
So pleased that you had a great stay and hope to welcome you back again soon.
Had a pleasure to stay in the hotel for a number of days back in April. The hotel is nicely located, right behind a bowling place. It is a brand new hotel with comfortable rooms and beds. The location makes it a bit pricey.
If you will be ordering food in the hotel, there is basic menu available, it is all warmed up for you (no kitchen in the evening). It was hit a miss - some a doing it slowly but others putting at maximum heat for a short time. As the result you get piping hot bread from outside with ice stone inside. I asked my Italian friend not to do it and be patient, but to no avail.
There is breakfast, with a good selection and even a small gym.
What really makes the place is hospitable is parking service. There is "free parking", which owned by the hotel but serviced by "Parking Eye". Idea is that on your arrival you enter the car number at the reception and its all done. Reality is, it does NOT work.
After a week arriving home I start receiving arrogant notes compiled to intimidate by Parking Eye. After I contacted the hotel , they promised to cancel it.
It did not stop Parking Eye, which reduced its demands from £100 to £20. No supporting evidence of any breach, yet keep alleging wrong doings.
I had to send three letters to the ParkingEye (of course no email address, they only accept paper letter but respond to you by email). Extremely arrogant service and very time consuming. If you are reading it, while staying at the hotel, enter your car number, every time you pass the reception.
If you considering to stay at the hotel and travelling in your car, there is another hotel down the road. Avoid Hampton while they have Parking Eye as the contractor. You will save yourself some time.
Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay.
I am sorry to learn that you received a parking notification from Parking Eye who manage the car parks at both the hotels here on the Kassam Stadium complex. I ensure any incorrectly issued ticket is cancelled as soon as I am made aware and a copy is sent to me - it can take Parking Eye a few days to process but everything I request is definitely cancelled.
Parking Eye have advised that the £20 fee is an admin charge which is sent when a car registration number was entered incorrectly on the parking system at Reception. I was not aware of this but again can get all charges cancelled.
Thank you also for the feedback regarding food in the bar / lounge - I will speak with the individual concerned and ensure he receives refresher training.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries and we hope to welcome you back to Oxford soon.
bed was not very comfy, for the price £179, i would have expected more luxury, staff not that friendly, room quite small, have stayed in better
shower gel in bathroom did not work, only 2 tea bags in the room, no biscuits
Thank you for your comments and I am sorry that you were disappointed by the facilities in the bedroom.
The hotel is only 3 years old and is purpose built to Hilton's specification for a Hampton by Hilton property including all the fixtures, fittings and soft furnishings.
Our tea and coffee trays are set up per the brand specification also and biscuits are not included at Hamptons - we have lots of extras available at Reception and also sell a really yummy cookie.
Feedback is really important and thank you for taking the time to pass on your comments.
