I have eaten food here quite a lot - it's one of my favourite spots in Oxford. The Spanakopitta is always tasty and there's little waiting time.

You have to order your food and drink at the counter, then it is brought to you at the table. There's seating at street level, and more in the basement which is decked out quite nicely. (Access by stairs to downstairs - no lift) The restaurant was decorated and spruced up last year with a fresh blue theme.

Feta pie / stuffed aubergine plus a portion of salad and hummus (or tzatziki) costs around £7.50, add a drink and it's getting on for £10, so it is not the greatest value in the street, but if you're tired of Jericho's pappy burgers, overcooked un-posh chippy chips, average Indian food and pizza it's certainly worth a look - it's good food Winter or Summer!

One thing I've noticed though is that their Greek salad seems to consist mostly of tomatoes these days and hardly any cucumber, which is a shame. Their salad used to be a lot better - perhaps it will pick up again soon.

A friend recommended this place to me. It's a bit far from where I live so I didn't get to go until recently. I chose to have a meze plate with dolmades, hummus, tzatziki and falafel. The plate was served very nicely, decorated with lemon slices, an olive and warm pita bread. However, the falafels were disappointing... then again, they are not so "Greek". Dolmades and tzatziki were excellent. I don't think the pita was homemade, was not very interesting. Hummus was good.
If I go again, I will stick to Greek basics rather than the more Levantine falafel or tabbouleh... will try the stuffed aubergine, and the spakanopita... I wonder if their baklava is better than in Jacobs & Field, doubt it though.

A great place to have lunch, especially as their lunch-time deals are very reasonable. This is authentic greek food, with a good selection of dishes which are on display and are reheated for you or served cold in the case of salads and mezze. This is convenient if you are in a hurry, almost no waiting time, although after 1pm it gets crowded. Everything is cooked and prepared on-site. The olives are the best in Oxford. Sometimes a bit heavy on the herbs, but not a big issue. Also a good place to buy tasty take-away food. All dishes served with salad.

There is a good informal but quiet atmosphere, all generations can be seen. It is clean and appetizing. Good for students on a budget but also families and pensioners. There are high-chairs, no changing facilities for babies though. The best place to have lunch when the weather is nice, a lovely sunny terrace at the back.

This is a popular lunch-time spot serving excellent quality Greek-style food. The trio of dips served with pita bread and the pita wraps are particularly good. Given how popular this spot is, particularly at lunch-time, I do recommend getting there no later then about 1pm.

Manos is the most genuine, honest tastiest place to eat in Oxford without question. Unpretentious, healthy and good value; bright and simply decorated, with a sunny rear terrace. Also sells the best olives and the best anchovy fillets in town.
