“A special evening out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

I went here as an intimate family celebration and the staff accommodated the event well. They made fabulous suggestions, even recommending different ways of ordering which would be cheaper.
The food was delicious and the menu so good that having said we would have two courses we had four.
It's a lovely atmosphere, so long as you are not looking for a silent empty room as it has always been very busy when I have been.
The only problem I did have is that the room we were in was a bit overcrowded - nobody could get in or out, including the staff.

“Excellent options, atmosphere and quality.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

From the moment you step in to this restaurant you feel like you are in France, the waiters are very helpful and are French as well, adding to the ambiance of it all. The food quality is superb and with the optional price fixed 2 and 3 course menus is very affordable too. The price fixed menu has, unlike many other restaurants a wide variety of choices, you can even have a cheese board each for dessert! This certainly satisfied my cheese lust, while the Mrs had a chocolate coffee parfait. Absolutely brilliant restaurant! We have a table booked this month for a birthday and recommend to all.

“Favourite spot for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014 via mobile

We keep coming back here because the food is so good and at a very reasonable price. From the lovely French bread and butter to the superb wine list. Never had a bad meal yet. The staff are always so friendly and helpful no matter how busy they are. You need to book so as not to be disappointed. A little corner of France in the middle of Oxford! Wonderful!

“Lovely Ambience - Average Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

Upon arrival we were seated upstairs and it became evident that the space was crammed with too many tables, especially with many large groups/parties. We were seated in a cramped corner (despite pre-booking the table a week and a half in advance). The noise level coming from the other tables was so loud that it was a battle for us to hear each other speak over the volume of everyone else's conversations. It took a while to be served. The table next to us were seated after we arrived and had ordered before we were given menus! My main course was average. I had Chicken for my main and it was extremely dry. My boyfriend had Duck Breast which was good. We ordered the Chocolate Fondue to share for dessert which was delicious. All in all, it really was average which is disappointing as many of our friends have recommended this restaurant and for the fact that it is so highly rated on here. The ambience of the restaurant itself was nice however if I return I would ask for a table on the ground floor.

“Anniversary dinner for thirty somethings. ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2014 via mobile

I went to the restaurant with my husband and we had a lovely evening. Great value for money on the prix fixe menu with 3 courses for £22. You should definitely book a table as it is very busy. Service was good. Puddings were nice but the highlight of the meal for both of us was the main course. Husband had moules frites and I had chicken with amazing dauphinoise potatoes. Quaint, romantic and delicious. Give it a try. Bon apetit!
