My wife and I were visiting our daughter at her college, and we wanted an economical lunch. We were still in possession of some Tesco vouchers, having had such a mediocre dining experience in Cafe Rouge on our last visit (part of the same group - the meal was so bad that we ended up not having to pay).
The restaurant was extremely busy and the volume of conversations was somewhat off-putting. We had booked on-line and were shown to our reserved table.
Service was slick and attentive, with the waiting and cooking staff operating as a cohesive unit. As a result, food was served in a timely fashion, and it was piping hot. The open kitchen, on view to most of the patrons, inspired confidence.
We all enjoyed our food - my Pollo Limone Siciliana really hit the spot. I also enjoyed a Molti Strata - chocolate tart with a white chocolate mousse and orange glaze - delicious and unusual.
A special mention should be made to praise the waiting staff. The atmosphere generated by the friendly team was very impressive. However, I would suggest that if you want a quiet meal, avoid choosing a time when the restaurant is so busy. It was sometimes a little difficult to hold a conversation - hence 4*
