Oxford is not a hotbed of restaurant options. A weekend visit and search on Tripdadvisor suggested that unless we wanted a curry The Quad was the 'go to' option but a booking policy for lunchtimes only doesn't serve would be diners well to take a gamble when evening temperatures are hovering above zero and gales lashing anyone outside.
So we were glad to skip taking our chances of being cut adrift without a dinner and choosing Chiang Mai: food was exceptionally good, Tudor building with appropriate fixtures, beams and doorways made for an interesting setting. Dumplings, fish cakes and satay were exquisite. Not the cheapest and can understand it being beyond the stretch of the student pocket but worth it
