Stayed here on 01/03/2013 as going to Oxford New Theatre 5 minute walk. Good accommodation it was clean and adequate, good value, breakfast was interesting chose the Lebonese option enjoyed, overall good value but dont expect sheer luxury.

If you expect traditional English B&B - you'll be very disapointed. Absense of hospitality, strange handling of customer's requests to see the room before paying upfront money for staying. Very dark rooms, awful food - never will be back there again and will tell my friends to avoid this establishment. Negative memory.

I am studying part time at Oxford and need somewhere to stay overnight. They prefer to let their rooms on a week basis and you have to book late (2 nights before) if you want a shorter stay. The rooms are fine, (bring your own soaps as they are not provided as with most hotels) the manager is the nicest bloke ever and the rooms are cheapest you can find in oxford outside of halls of residence. The restaurant serves some great food room and very reasonable prices. For an overnight get away, for essential business stays, for a quiet place out of the way but still close to the centre. This is the place.

A great launching point for exploration of Oxford and environs. 5-minute walk from Gloucester Green bus station and main streets, but in a quiet neighborhood. Please consult recent reviews, which are accurate and we will not repeat. This is not a five-star hotel, but it neither tries to be one nor has rates like one. It does not come up on many of the standard hotel websites and has less of an online presence than the more glitzy Oxford alternatives. Just email the hotel to make a reservation. They are very responsive, helpful, and honorable by email. Clean, quiet, well-run, modest. The only unusual advice is to bring soap/shampoo for the shower or prepare to buy it. For what you will save by staying here, however, you could buy entire cases of soap and shampoo.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas night at the Richmond while we were visiting family in Oxford, and it was just the ticket. We had a courteous welcome and our rooms were warm and comfortable and clean, with interesting decor and stunning inlaid wardrobes. The breakfast is simple - cereal, toast, a choice of eggs (boiled, omelette, poached etc) or Lebanese breakfast (hummus, feta, olives, tomato, cucumbers and flatbread - delicious). We had my wife's 93 year-old mother with us, and she enjoyed it, too (her only complaint was that the shower controls were to high up for her to reach on her own). We'd certainly go back.

An excellent value for money hotel. Its in a superb location close to everything in the city centre. Its clean and the staff are amazingly friendly. It has everything you want from a hotel including being quiet.
A tip, the Lebanise restaurant downstairs is very good but full allot of the time so book in advance if you want to eat there.
And for those who have not been to Oxford before - Great City !!!

We stayed here on a Saturday, and it was last minute reservation. We were welcomed warmly by the owner, David, who was very helpful and provided useful information. Room was lovely, smallish and basic but clean and with character. We liked brick walls, crispy clean bedding and the fact that the room was equipped with tea& coffee facilities, broadband, etc. the room including breakfast cost us £60, which was about half price comparing to other, same standard places. We feel it was excellent value for money and would definitely come back.
