Only disappointment was they knew two groups were visiting on the day and could have the foresight or intelligence to have the shop open. I wanted a few T-shirts. Just as well we did the pro-drive visit the day before and the group spent a good few hundred on tops and t-shirts and jackets as they actually have someone that had the intelligence to plan ahead.
The actual tour is fantastic made even better by the tour guide John who was not only entertaining but very knowledgable about everything that goes on and the processes. The visited centre or reception hall is actually an embarrassment to the plant with three Mini's and a old 1914 classic. Ok Realise we had just came from pro-drive who had a great visiter centre and let us sit in million plus sports cars and cars with real history. So in all at £12 is great value and the actual tour is well done pity it's let down by management above who clearly have no foresight or common sense. After all MINI is just a pressed metal shell, the the owners that are special and it's about time BMW gave us choosing not only to buy there car but visit and take an interest in the company a bit more respect.

My husband and I toured the BMW mini factory and just loved it! We booked our tour online and had no trouble with the booking process. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and we got to tour the entire body shop and assembly shop. Watching the machines and people work to put together the cars was breathtaking. I would highly recommend this experience.

For anyone interested in minis, cars, machinery or even just modernity, this is an incredible experience!! I'm not into cars and I thought it was absolutely amazing. Terry is a brilliant guide, and there's so much history and information provided. I don't know where the previous reviewer got the 100 pound fee from, but you can book tickets online for individuals at 15 pounds a person (with reductions for students and children). We arrived at the plant and was greeted by two lovely gentlemen - John and Terry.
Proceeding on to look around all the mini's old and new in the show room, we spent a bit of time posing for pictures with each of the cars.
Kitted out in coat, glasses and radio transmitter we then moved on to the production unit to see how the cars actually come together and the final product roll off the end of the line. That is the point in which we both decided we would like the new mini coupe!
Next we moved on to the Assembly Unit to see how the wonderful Robots build these fantastic cars.
Both John and Terry were very knowledgeable and entertaining!
It was a truly enjoyable and memorable afternoon around the plant and we would recommend this tour to everyone.
Value for money at only £15 for just over a two hour tour with a complimentary DVD.
Thank You Mini Plant Oxford and especially John and Terry for making our day such a great one.
It was a real mini adventure!
