My two-night stay here was very comfortable. Not being sure how easily I'd get to sleep knowing that I was in a former prison cell, I stayed in what was once the governor's house where I had no problems doing so.
I have only a couple of minor comments about the room. One was that although I was able to have a comfortably warm shower, it didn't appear possible to have a hotter one. And I had to hunt around for electrical sockets when I needed to charge up a couple of things and dry my hair. I did find three standard sockets in the end, but most of the points in the room take round pins! But the sachets of make-your-own filter coffee were especially appreciated.
I had continental breakfast which set me up well for the day. I am a relative newcomer to the boutique hotel world so a little surprised by the hard rock playing quietly in the background. Surely this kind of music should be heard at full volume or not at all?
But all in all it was a very pleasant stay and I'd happily return.More
