“The best restaurant in Oxford”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Most people think of the boathouse as a destination in the summer where it is truly magnificent. However, the winter menu is really excellent, the wine list is really good, and the service is excellent. I think I have been to many restaurants in Oxford over the years. The Boathouse is in my view the best. The food is excellent for the price, the setting marvellous, there is parking for patrons and the ambiance is really nice. Today we went for lunch. It was a dreary wet, cold, February Sunday, but we had a super experience. I can highly recommend it all times of the year.

“Beautiful spot”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

A lovely boathouse with grassy area next to the river to sit. There is a bar serving a variety of drinks including pimms (highly recommended)! There is also a cafe you can sit inside but we didnt try it somi cant really comment. Mostly punts available to hire but also some rowing boats. River is wider and less crowded than at magdalen bridge. We didn't get that far down the river but you go through countryside and past playing fields in the direction we went, I'm told there's a good pub in the other direction. We had a great time both times we went here and will definitely go again.
