“Nice for a winter walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

Only a short stride from the City, it's well worth a visit for those who enjoy rambling. But a controversial development is set to devalue the view of the City's dreaming spires

“Beautiful all year round!”

Whether you cycle, run or walk here, all year round the scenery is stunning. If the lake freezes you'll see all the neighbourhood kids skating!

“This is the best place to se the dreamy spires from”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

Port meadow is older than the University. Towns people have been grazing livestock in the meadow for 2000 years, there are signs of settlement there that date back at least that far. The Thames borders the entire Meadow which is huge and geese, ducks and other water fowl nest on the shores. For a trip back in time not to mention a chance to walk alongside your ancestors, visit here.

“Such a unique place to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

I went on a cycle ride with a few others and started at a pub in Wolvercote and cycled down the canal to Oxford and then back via Port Meadow following the river. It was such a nice bike ride and I felt as though I was in the middle of no where cycling through the meadow except I was in the middle of Oxford.
