Stayed here with friends for a few days in May and thought hotel was very good and in an excellent location for touring Oxford. Our friends picked a nicer, larger room on the 2nd floor with river views and good size bathroom. Our room on the first floor was small, with quite a very small shower room and rather dark as only one small window but it was clean, decor was good and bed was extremely comfortable. Had to ask for some brighter bed-side lamps but staff were very willing, friendly and helpful. Car parking available if booked beforehand so easy to walk into town to explore the lovely city. Pub area was slightly scruffy and basic but quite comfortable. Would certainly stay here again...and I'm rather fussy!

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking the river as it will be larger.

Been here with friends in April, had a couple of drinks around lunch time.
Enjoyed sitting next to the river and leaxing in the sun.
Prices are OK for Oxford and also the inside looks very nice with a bit different design to the normal standardised Pubs.
Would go again if the weather is nice to sit on the river bank.

Called in for a drink and a bite to eat at lunch time and lucky enough to get a table outside in the sunshine overlooking the river ... perfect.
The food was good and reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. It was a pleasure too to hear young people having conversations that didn't include swear words.

Excellent location, and great beers. Breakfast service was absolute chaos. Poorly trained staff who didn't appear to have a clue about what they were supposed to be doing. Breakfast service dint start until 8-30. It was 9-30 before our breakfasts arrived, and then only after chasing the 'staff'.Would have had even Basil Fawlty tutting at the ineptitude. I has to feel sorry for the untrained youngsters trying to do their best in a second language.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a wardrobe if staying for more than one night

Great location with easy walking access to the city. Rooms were clean and quiet with nice themes.staff very friendly and helpful. We were there over two lovely days so we sat outside for drinks and lunch, tables were at a premium as it is a very popular venue even on weekdays.
The food was ok, pub grub really and it was a little slow in arriving, but they were busy.
Overnight parking available but limited so book a place to ensure a place.
Overnight prices a little expensive but I guess that's the price you have to pay for a great location with parking in a lovely city.
