This is a really fun place to go!!! Went a few nights ago with my Mum, my daughter and my sister and had a great time. The atmosphere is great and the staff are brilliant, very attentive and fun.

It was a busy evening but our food didn't take long to come and when it did it was tasty.

The wine we had was very good too. Great for a lovely summer's evening and not to be missed if visiting Oxford.

If you want to soak up the atmosphere of Oxford this is the place to go, On a summers afternoon by the river with great food and drink, the place just buzzes.
The food is great especially the sharing platters.
It's a busy place so here is a tip, (re: previous reviewer) you find a table, note the number, go to the bar, order your drink and food, take your drinks a wait at your table, in a short time a waitress brings you the food, easy!

What a joke! We TRIED to have dinner here this evening. It's well located and we wanted to grab dinner on our way back to our hotel. When we arrived, it all looked fine, we were welcomed by a man behind the bar, but that was the ONLY human contact we had there. We sat there for 20 minutes and NO-ONE took the effort of asking us what to drink or handing us the menu. When we asked a waitress, she mumbled "Mkey" and later throwed the menu's on the table. Behind the bar there were three bartenders/waitresses doing NOTHING. When we waited another 15 minutes with absolutely no one checking up on us, but helping other people, even people that came in later and they got their dinner, WE LEFT!! I have never experienced something like this my whole life. I hope someone of the staff reads this and feels very ashamed.

The hotel is on the riverside, 2 minutes walk to the old town. The rooms have been updated with new decor, furniture and en-suite. Everything was very clean and the bed comfortable. The only annoying thing was the very noisy bathroom fan. We found the switch to turn it off at night as when the bathroom light was put on the fan started up and carried on 20 minutes after turning the light off. We could also hear the fans from other rooms. There is air conditioning in the room. There is no tea & coffee facilities in the room but you can ring reception from 7am or they offer a kettle etc; if you want to make your own. There is no extra charge for the tea. Downstairs is a lovely pub with beer garden, good beers and good food. The hotel-pub staff are all very polite and helpful, just got a little chaotic at the evening when pub was very busy. If booking through a third party website make sure you get a copy of the prices they booked you in for.The hotel does not always have the same as the website.I would recommend a stay there .They do only have a few parking spaces so ring them directly and reserve one.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear are quieter as they are away from the main road.

Exceptional staff, all welcoming chatty friendly, knowledgeable, fantastic. Plenty of choice at breakfast, especially enjoyed the chunky slices of farmhouse style toast. Room was small, but had a great large (and tall) double bed and a huge en suite. Shame not to have the bath advertised in the superior room. The shower although good seemed makeshift. Overall fantastic location, great views and good service.
