We can only echo the five star reviews already given for this guest house. Spotlessly clean and with a very welcoming atmosphere, we couldn't find fault with any aspect of it. As other people have said, Carol the owner is unfailingly friendly and helpful - someone for whom nothing is too much trouble. We've already recommended this place to friends and will be coming back here whenever we're next in Oxford.

A very pleasant bed and breakfast. Excellent service and very friendly. Superb breakfast. Rooms clean and well equipped! Well located just outside city centre. Easy to reach by bus or taxi. Would thoroughly recommend it!

I stayed in a single room on the first floor for three nights in December 2012 as I was in Oxford for research at the Bodleian. I can warmly recommend anyone going to Oxford to stay at this charming B&B. Carol is - as many reviewers have written - very friendly and welcoming. The room was small and the bathroom minuscule but that was just fine. The room was spotless, warm (very important in England in December!) and cosy. I slept very well and enjoyed the enormous full English breakfast served every morning!
The guest house is out of town, but I walked a couple of times and within 20 minutes or so one reaches Christ Church so it's not really far, but road is very busy. The bus ride is short and cheap so I'd recommend visitors to take the bus and walk in the centre of Oxford or by the river instead.

When we arrived we were greeted like old friends by Carol, a lovely, friendly and very helpful hostess. For her, nothing is too much trouble. Our beautiful room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was superb and we were offered a wide choice. The location is very handy for Oxford city centre with plenty of buses or a pleasant walk of around a mile. I am delighted to recommend this lovely guest house, I really couldn't fault it and would love to stay there again. Thank you Carol for making our stay such a great experience.

Had the ground floor room. Small but didn't matter because we only slept there. And didn't have to carry luggage upstairs. Excellent breakfast and very friendly service. Location also fine: several buses pass the house and some 20-25 minutes walk to city centre isn't too much. Only minus hasn't got anything to do with accommodation: two days was far too short time to explore Oxford properly.

It's people like Carol that make a guest house so much better than a hotel - a genuine friendliness and helpfulness. Like staying with a really nice aunty :)

The room was nicely decorated and clean with modern en suite bathroom. The bed in my room was comfortable but not luxurious, the shower was electric so ok but not massively powerful or scolding hot. It was fairly quiet and I got a good night's sleep.

Breakfast was lovely and I was well fed with a big pot of tea on the side. Definitely no scrimping on the bacon on my butty which was much needed!

It was a 20 minute walk to the centre either straight down the road or along the river which was beautiful, or a few pounds by taxi so still much cheaper combined than staying in an expensive city centre hotel.

On the whole, fully recommended. If a power shower is a must then it might not be the one for you but everything else gets a big thumbs up.

I came here for a surprise pre- birthday weekend. I have never been to Oxford before and I really did enjoy it, and there is so much more to see!

We were in room 2. The bathroom door does bang into the table with the TV on, but nothing broke, so that's OK!

The room is spotlessly clean, lovely toiletries and a tea tray that includes Galaxy hot chocolate drink - very bad, but much appreciated!

Breakfast in a conservatory room overlooking the garden was wonderful. I must eat more grapefruit, as I really enjoyed the mixed grapefruit cocktail Carol served before the fantastic "full English" that miraculously appears just when you are ready for it.

We didn't catch the bus at all, as the walk down the river (little passage after the 4 Mills Hotel) is very pretty and takes you just outside the main centre, conveniently at a pub called "The Head of the River" which does very good food, although it seemed very busy and Carol says it is heaving in the summer.

This B and B is really not as far out from town as it might seem, and the river walk into town is worth doing any way.

Carol is a lovely hostess. We went to the tourist information on our way from the railway station and asked for directions to Cornerways, and even the lady in Tourist Information said "Oh yes, Carol - she's a really nice lady"!

Room Tip: Room number 2 wasn't noisy, but might be a bit small if you are big people
