“Martin is everything you could ask for in a tour guide!”

Before we ever met Martin, his guidance began. We met him via searching for a Cotswolds guide, and he helped us decide which sights to see, in the day we had available. Then, he met us at our train, took wonderful care of us, and delivered us back to the train for London.

Martin is charming and fun to be with, all the while showing our small group around in his minivan.

It was a genuine pleasure to take his tour, and we would absolutely do a tour with him, again!

Really enjoyed the personable tour through the scenic Cotswolds that I participated in with my travel companion. It was a rainy Saturday, so it was just a total of four travels, with Martin as our guide. I appreciated all the printed information and map Martin gave us - something that helps when you want to go back and recall some specific locations you visited. He was a laid back, knowledgeable guide, but most importantly he was patient and flexible, giving us an opportunity to make a few additional stops to compensate for the weather. (Which improved significantly by the time we were half way through the tour.) We were staying in London for a week and this was the only tour outside the city that I'd booked for us, and even with the damp weather, it was one of the highlights of our vacation.

Thank you very much Tanya for coming with us, and of course for your very positive feedback.
Weather is one thing beyond our control but we do try to have alternative options available - so glad they suited you. Martin

Martin was very knowledgeable chap of his area around Oxford, but the tour was somewhat disappointing when for instance he pointed to a hedge and said that behind that hedge was a location that is used for filming Midsomer murders as we drove past.
We appreciated his going off the route a little to show us where Agatha Christie was buried.

Of course we are disappointed that you should not feel completely happy with your tour with us, Sharon - and would not have minded at all if you had commented when we were together. You mention just one moment (although we would never knowingly do what you describe) in the course of several hours, during which we took you to a number of towns and villages where Midsomer has been filmed, and pointed out many specific locations, stopping and walking in a number of them.

As agreed in advance, your trip was shorter than our full-day tour, which did mean that we saw fewer cottages than usual - and of course our ability to stop in one of the prettiest villages was curtailed by the volume of traffic attending the village show that day (a very Midsomer moment).
We are glad you appreciated the special detour to show you Agatha Christie's house and her grave, when we learned of your interest in her.

Thank you again for touring with us. Martin

Martin promptly picked us up at our B&B in his mini-van and took us on a wonderful all day tour of the various sites used to film the British TV series called Midsomer Murders. We felt spoiled by Martin who conducted this unique tour for just my wife and myself. Many of the towns were quite picturesque and certainly a unique experience - many homes were thatched, something we have never seen before. We even had an opportunity to speak with a local shopkeeper whose store was transformed several times into different sets for Midsomer Murder. A great way to spend a full day.

We met our guide and driver, Mark, at the Tourist Office in downtown Oxford. We began our tour promptly at 9:15AM. We were given a Cotswold map and a handout which described each village or site that we would see that day. As we drove from place to place, Mark provided an excellent commentary. Morning, lunch and afternoon tea breaks were scheduled. The nice thing about Absolute Touring is that most of the roads and villages we saw had no large tour busses. So we saw much of the Cotswolds one can only see by car. Of course we went to some of the more touristy areas too. Mark was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We were lucky to have a warm, sunny day that made the trip even more fun. We were so enthralled we didn't return to Oxford until 6:40 PM. This is a great tour company friendly and adaptable. Check out their website. We highly recommend them
